Report To PDF

Output any Microsoft Access report to a PDF file and optionally attach it to an Outlook email ready to compose and send. This function can be called by a menu bar, shortcut menu, ribbon option, Autokeys (hotkey) macro or Visual Basic event code. You can also process a list of reports silently as a batch process.

This download contains everything that you need to provide your users with a simple to use process to output their current print preview report (or a named report not in preview) to a standard PDF file and save it to disc or attach it to an Outlook email ready for them to compose and send.

  • You make a single function call with optional parameters to control behaviour.

  • Easy to deploy. Self-contained re-distributable DLLs provide file manipulation and all functionality is built using totally standard native Access objects with standard Windows API calls. Does NOT require ActiveX controls, special project references or OCX's.

  • Save the current report in print preview; have a hotkey, menu bar, shortcut menu or ribbon option to invite the user to save the report to a PDF file (they can choose where and its name) or spool it out as a PDF file attachment to a new Outlook email ready for them to compose and send. Examples are included.

  • Batch Processing; create a silent procedure that outputs a list of reports to individual PDF files and either save them in a specified location or attach them to Outlook emails and save them in the user's Inbox.

  • You can specify the save file path and name in the function call or ask the user at runtime.

  • The function can be called as a silent or user interactive process.

  • Password; you can create the PDF file without a password or secure it by specifying a password in the function call or ask the user to input at runtime.

  • Auto Start; have the process open the saved PDF file in the user's registered viewer automatically.

  • Lots of examples included.
